Town Podgora is situated in the heart of Dalmacija on the Makarska Riviera, 70 km south of Split, 8 km from Makarska and 150 km north of Dubrovnik. It lies on slops of mountain Biokovo which highest point is Sveti Jure 1762 meters. In front are islands Hvar and Brac, south are Korcula and peninsula Pelješac. Great promenade with palm trees, restaurants and romantic coffees dominate the town, next to the peeble beach and crystal clear sea. If You like it more lively the center of Podgora is 10 minutes walk along the shoreline. Makarska is 10 minutes drive with many restaurants, bars and other tourist atractions.

Makarska is dominated by barok cherch of Sant Marko build on Kačić square which name is given in honour of one of the first croatian writers of 18. century Andrija Kačić Mijošić who wrote on croatian language and was born in this area. The other barok buildings is possibel to see along the coats and peninsula Sant Petar. For shell lovers we recomainde to visit alakološki muzeum in Franciscan monastery from 15.-17 cenuty.
